In 1995 the Kuvasz bitch ‚Barany’ joined our family. This was the beginning of a great love story. It was also the start of an ever growing love of guard and herding dogs. Our second Kuvasz ‘Bärli’ came to us in January 1996.
Guard and herding dogs like the Kuvasz have been bred for a specific role, namely to protect the shepherd and his herd and to accompany him on his travels. The following breeds are also considered guard and herding dogs: Caucasian Ovcharka, Central Asian Ovcharka, South Russian Ovcharka, Komondor, Dho Khyi and many more.

There is hardly another breed that has as many misunderstandings with his people due to his genetic behaviour such as:

- Independence

- Extreme alertness, especially at dawn

- Distinctive territorial behaviour

- Mistrusting strangers

- Extreme individual distance

- Being always ready to protect

This type of behaviour might result in small or big problems.

With my knowledge and experience, I would like help owners and prospective owners of all guard and herding dogs to avoid problems or solve existing ones.
